Essential Information for Your Event or Hike on the Edelsberg
General Information
We accept reservations for our hut evenings on Fridays and Saturdays.
During the day, we only take table reservations for groups of 10 or more, on availability.

Please let us know in advance if you can’t make it or if you’ll be late. Kindly note that we may release your table after 20 minutes if you don’t arrive on time.
There are several ways to reach us:
On Foot / Hiking:
The hiking trails are marked, and you may still find signs with the former name "Gundhütte".
All hikes are generally suitable for both beginners and advanced hikers. Take your time and go at your own pace – it’s absolutely worth it.
On Foot / Hiking:
- From the parking lot in Pfronten-Röfleuten (opposite the fire station), enjoy an easy walk to the hut in about 1 to 1.5 hours.
- From the hiking parking lot in the Vilstal (between Filstalsäge and Schochersäge), follow a forest and meadow path, approximately a 40-minute walk.
- Our recommendation: Take the cable car to the Alpspitze, hike to the summit of the Edelsberg, and enjoy the magnificent view of the Alpine valley with its many lakes and forests. The descent to the Edelsberghütte follows a scenic forest trail – perfect for nature lovers!

Sturdy hiking boots or trekking shoes are essential!
Also pack a backpack with water, snacks, and a change of clothes.
If needed, we recommend hiking poles – though they are not mandatory. During the winter months, crampons are recommended for the mountain road.

Of course – you can hike up with a classic winter hike. For this, you’ll definitely need mountain boots with good tread.

Yes – we have three apartment chalets at our hut. These can be booked for a minimum of 2 nights.

Previously, there was a fantastic playground as part of the Edelsberghütte's offerings. However, when we took over the mountain hut in September 2024, it required renovations and had not been approved by TÜV.
As our current priority is on our culinary offerings and the well-being of the little ones is very important to us, the playground is currently not open. We are planning to develop a new concept for the playground for the 2025 season, to create a fun and safe experience for the children.

Chalet Vacation in Pfronten
Arrival by Car
If you are arriving by car, we recommend the hiking parking lot in Pfronten-Röfleuten. You can purchase a multi-day ticket for €5/day (as of 08/2024).
Alternatively, you can use the hiking parking lot 'Vilstal P2' under the same conditions.
Direct access to our mountain hut by car is not allowed.
Guest Transfer to the Hut
Available between 4:00 PM and 5:00 PM. All guests must arrive at the hut by 5:30 PM at the latest.
Please call +49 8363 1777 at least 30 minutes before your arrival so we can meet you at the hiking parking lot in Pfronten-Röfleuten.
(Located just past Röfleuter Weg 30 (horse stables) or after the town sign for Pfronten-Röfleuten)
Special Note During Ski Operations at the Sonnenlifte: Transfers are only possible before 9:00 AM or after 4:00 PM. (Whether ski operations are running depends heavily on weather and snow conditions and can only be determined at short notice.)
Hiking to the Hut but Luggage Transport
If you plan to hike to the hut, we can transport your luggage between 4:00 PM and 5:00 PM.
Meeting point is at the hiking parking lot in Pfronten-Röfleuten.
Departure
We’re happy to drive you back to the valley between 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM.
The chalet must be vacated by 10:00 AM.
Special Note During Ski Operations at the Sonnenlifte: Transfers are only possible before 9:00 AM or after 4:00 PM. (Whether ski operations are running depends heavily on weather and snow conditions and can only be determined at short notice.)
- Upon request, you are welcome to bring your dog. We charge €12 per night (excluding food).
- We kindly ask that you keep your dog on a leash outside your apartment. This is out of consideration for other guests and, most importantly, the surrounding wildlife.
- We reserve the right to charge an additional cleaning fee for excessive dirt or damage (approximately €100, depending on the level of effort required).
All our chalets on the Edelsberg come with a fully equipped kitchen for self-catering. However, we also offer extensive catering options for added comfort:
- If you’d like to order breakfast, please let us know at least 1 day in advance (or at the time of booking). The price is €16.00 per person per day. You can choose to have breakfast in the guesthouse starting at 8:30 AM or we can prepare a breakfast basket for you to enjoy in your chalet at your convenience.
- We operate a guesthouse on-site, please note our opening hours.
- Please inform us before your arrival about any allergies, intolerances, or vegetarian preferences.
- Beverages must be purchased through us. We offer a selection of drinks at fair prices for our apartment guests.
- In our guesthouse, standard menu prices apply.
The wellness area at Hotel Das Rübezahl in Schwangau is exclusively accessible to hotel guests. For chalet guests of the Edelsberghütte, we offer an exclusive day spa experience upon request and prior reservation.
The day spa costs €80.00 per person (12:00 PM to 6:00 PM) and includes a wellness bag with a bathrobe and slippers. Additional pampering treatments can be booked at our Beauty-Alm in Hotel Das Rübezahl. We kindly ask that these be booked in advance.
Events and Special Occasions
Birthday parties, corporate events, incentives, and weddings – everything is possible.
General Event Information:
Smaller events for up to 25 people can be arranged during regular hut operations. For special occasions, the mountain hut can be rented exclusively for up to 65 people starting from 6:00 PM. A minimum spend is required for exclusive reservations.
If the event goes past 10:00 PM, this is only possible with the simultaneous booking of our three chalet apartments. Otherwise, we cannot ensure the well-deserved peace of our overnight guests.
Special Location & Arrival:
The road to the hut is a private forestry road, and private vehicles are not permitted. A shuttle service can be requested.

Yes, our overnight guests can celebrate New Year’s Eve privately among themselves. Fireworks are not permitted! Our guesthouse is open on December 31st until 7:00 PM, allowing guests to return to the valley in time to celebrate the New Year.
